Today I am grateful for nap time with Copeland. My niece is about to turn two. My most favorite thing is rocking her to sleep and singing her lullabies.
Today my mom was watching her so my sil could attend a kindergarten field trip. I went over at 11 to rock Copeland to sleep before I had to leave for an appointment.
We rocked and cuddled and I sang to her for about 20 minutes.
We hit Sound of Music, Oklahoma, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and of course Little Mermaid.
My favorite part is when Cope hums along before she falls asleep. Then she tucks her little hands behind her back and snuggles into the blanket. It brings me unmatched joy that I am a place of comfort for her. I also just enjoy singing.
The day she no longer needs me to do this is a day I don’t even want to contemplate.
