Clean House = Peaceful Mind

Jordan Peterson was the one who introduced me to this idea. If you want to make the world a better place start small and work outward. Start with a closet, then a room, then the whole house, then the yard and then your community.

Awwlexis on Youtube said it’s important to make your space the most peaceful and clean and beautiful that you can. It will help you feel better and when you feel better you do more.

My best friend told me I should start with just the area I work and see most often. So I started with my living room. I love to sit in my comfy rocking recliner and type away, or design away, or read away… Last night I came home and started to clean up the living room. I still have a little work to do, but overall I feel much more settled and comfortable in my space. The pile of laundry is put away, the floor is swept, the furniture is dusted and straightened.

I don’t know where I will move to next, probably the bathroom because it needs a deep clean (again) and the kitchen because it’s also stressful right now.

The big daunting tasks are parts of the yard, the chicken coop, the garage, the basement… Maybe I will build enough momentum from these smaller spaces that it will snowball into my entire world being beautiful. It should also make upkeep easier and thus maintaining a clean home easier.

You know what, though? The first place I did this was my car. Because my car is pretty much a giant purse on wheels. So the car was the first step. Man I’m feeling good about this.

What room would YOU start in for a total home reset?
