Did you ever have a childhood superstition or game you would play that was silly but somehow you STILL find yourself adhering to the rules as an adult?
For example, I never watched scary movies or anything growing up, but I learned some of the sleepover games from my friends and tv. One thing I will NEVER do is say bloody Mary into the mirror. Another thing I will never mess with is a ouija board.
One of the things I used to do as a kid that I always find myself tempted to do (and often DO regardless of the silliness) is hold my breath when passing a cemetery. Sometimes it’s a test of strength. Can I hold my breath the whole 60 seconds it takes to drive past? What if it’s a really large cemetery and you’re stuck at a red light next to it? Also, does it only apply to inhaling? If you inhale you can be possessed, but if you exhale are you keeping the ghosts OUT of your body?
Silly? Yes. Do I still think about it every time I see a grave? Also yes.
