Blank Pages

I just saw a reel where Nate Bargatze did a bit about needing a book to have blank pages. Then he released a book where he added some blank pages in the middle. Clever.

When I was in fifth grade I had to do a “research” paper on Eli Whitney. I wanted to make it authentic, like a REAL book, so I added extra pages. In my mind the chapter books I read always have 1-2 blank pages at the front/back. I didn’t know why. (I still don’t actually…) I thought I would get bonus points for being authentic.

What happened instead was I got the paper back with a note. “Stop wasting paper.”

I’m not saying this is WHY I need therapy, but it definitely fed into my complex of “Being seen means being misunderstood”.

I guess the lesson here is when kids in my life do things I need to seek an understanding rather than jump to accusations.
