Do you like musicals? Like, the modern kind that are more pop-sounding than theatrical sounding? Do you like Greek Mythology and the Odyssey? Do you like dozens of songs following a single plot line that lasts 20 years? Well… you should look up Epic the Musical! It just concluded and it was a painful wait.
I heard the songs sporadically on social media. It’s so well done. The gent who wrote/performed it is a brilliant man. I don’t know if there is talk to take this to the stage, but the people illustrating the songs on youtube would make a killer cartoon.
I’m not a big fan of Greek Mythology, but this made the Odyssey more enjoyable than it was when I read it in 10th grade. Broken down into nine sections that include 3-5 songs each, each song shows the character development of a man who just wants to get home to his wife.
