Because I am just SURE that y’all are as fascinated by kpop as I am I wanted to go into the individual work of these amazingly talented dudes. (Haha, even if you aren’t interested it’s my blog/diary and I want to think about Korean Pop music today.)

Suho: (Kim Jun Myeon) The leader of EXO is Suho. I know you can’t really know a person just because you see an interview or a tv show appearance, but I think he is a very intense guy. He tolerates a lot of insanity and keeps the other members in line. In the dramas I have seen Suho act in he does a great job, but I never like his character. That being said, he sings like an angel and his solo albums are some of the best in the group. Suho speaks English (at least passably well) and is the second oldest member.

Xiumin: (Kim Minseok) He is the oldest member, and is one of the better dancers. Originally EXO was split into a Chinese group and a Korean group, releasing all their music in both languages. Xiumin was originally part of the Chinese group. They always made fun of his weight because he had a cute round face at debut. It makes me sad to see him body shamed because he has always been a fit dude. (One of the dark sides of kpop for sure.) He is also part of the sub-group CBX with Chen and Baekhyun.

Baekhyun: Is SO funny. He is the charmer, the class clown. He acted in the drama Scarlet Heart Goryeo and omg… He makes me cry EVERY time I watch him. So much talent. (Spoiler: His character dies in an extremely tragic way and he pulls it off SO well.) Baekhyun is a gifted dancer and one of the lead singers. He has the voice and range of an angel. He is a skilled martial artist and can be seen showing off his skills on variety shows.

Chanyeol: Baekhyun’s counterpart of chaos. He is the tallest group member, he is the lead rapper and writes a lot of their music. He plays several instruments and has acted in a few things. He has a cocky personality, but he’s talented and handsome so it’s not completely undeserved. When you pair him with D.O it’s like Tom and Jerry. He primarily raps but he has an amazing voices ❤

Chen: (Kim Jong Dae) Chen is the sweetest thing. He is also part of the original Chinese group (though he’s Korean through and through.) Chen is one of the lead singers, having performed on shows like The Masked Singer. Chen got married a few years ago right before leaving for his mandatory military service. I think he has two children now and is (to my knowledge) the only member of the group who is married. He faced so much backlash after announcing his wedding I was sick for him. I really think he might be the nicest person in showbiz. He has that reputation for sure. I loved watching him as a guest on Superman, a show about celebrity dads who take care of their kids solo for weekends at a time. It’s really sweet.

D.O: (Do KhungSoo) One of the lead singers and one of the younger members. Kyungsoo is such a talented actor and he loves cooking. (So much that much of his military service was spent in the kitchen.) There is a show called Hello, Monster where he plays a serial killer. It is so creepily excellent. Then you turn around and he’s a prince in 100 Days My Prince and then he’s a North Korean POW in Swing Kids… He seriously has zero limits. He’s also cute as a button. His personality is something of a curmudgeon compared to the hyperactive members, but he seems very genuine and kind.

Kai: (Kim Jong-In) Is the main dancer of EXO. One of the younger members, Kai is very pretty. He is also a gifted actor. His performance in Andante will leave you in tears. Kai has two sisters and seems to be a very doting and fun uncle. His father passed away a few years ago and I remember hearing a story that his dad bribed him to audition for SM with a video game system. Kai grew up doing ballet and other types of dance. He has had several dance related injuries and I think is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service (though he might be done by now).

Sehun: (Oh Sehun) Is the youngest (maknae) of the group. He is definitely babied by the other members, though now that he’s 30 maybe they’ve stopped being so generous, haha. He is a lead dancer and rapper of the group. Super charming. Super funny. Very spoiled. Vicious as youngest siblings tend to be. I don’t think he followed anyone on social media, and kept refusing his other member’s friend requests. It was a point of contention in some interviews, haha. He doesn’t do as much solo work, but he and Chanyeol released some music together as an EXO subgroup. He has also done some acting, including Dokgo Rewind, where he plays a high school drop out who loses a brother to school violence and takes down a group of bullies with his best friends. So good.
