Concentration Tips: Music edition

I have probably mentioned before the power of lofi music in maintaining focus while working/studying. I learned a new musical term(?) the other day for studying and focusing.

Jim Kwik, in his book Limitless, tells us to turn on a baroque music playlist on youtube or spotify to keep focused.

I am currently listening to violins. I feel like I’m blogging in the middle of the French court. If you know classical music then the concerto might distract you, but because I have no idea what’s coming next or what to anticipate I am getting so much done!

Usually I try to study listening to instrumental versions of my favorite modern songs. This doesn’t always work because I still know the tune, even if the lyrics are gone. I also like listening to Elmer Bernstein music, but again… I know what’s coming. I know my favorite parts of the song and I anticipate it and pause what I’m doing to picture the magnificent seven riding across the desert, or Moses parting the waters of the red sea.

10/10 would recommend a baroque music playlist for focus.
