I have started to write in a journal as part of therapy. When something comes up that really bothers me or I have a strong reaction to it I take a note and think, “Where does this intensity come from? Why was I trigged by xyz?” Then I try to link it to other feelings so that I can mini EMDR myself until I go see my shrink again.
One thing that has helped me get into the habit of writing was taking prompts from my podcast favorites like Jillz or Awwlexis on youtube.
Here is my prompt for the day…
“Who would I be if I weren’t insecure?”
Think about it and consider keeping a journal of your own. Happy writing!
