Rings

I have decided to clean out my house. Winter cleaning. (Instead of Spring.) Some days are more productive than others, but right now I’m on a jewelry kick.

I’m going to wear things and if I can’t keep them on or I don’t feel comfortable I’m going to get rid of it. I have so much jewelry that I can’t or won’t use. There was a period of my life where I decked out in necklaces and funky earrings every day of the week.

Then I started working remotely and that stopped.

I’m starting to find a happy balance again, but there is no excuse to have literally hundreds of items that I wear once a year (if that).

I need to do the same thing with shoes, and clothes. I already tackled my sweater collection and denim. It’s a great feeling to purge the closet.

I hoard things in the name of sentimentality, but it backfires and now I have a house full of stuff. Is this why old movies always have attics full of clothes and artwork? Hoarding in the name of sentimentality? I don’t have cool attic. For me it’s a giant basement. And I want to use it for food storage and excess furniture that might actually come in handy someday.

What random stuff do you need to get rid of this season?

Speaking of seasons, I have decided to get rid of things that aren’t in my color season. But that’s another blog post for another day.
