If you know someone who is an enneagram 7 you know someone who battles intense FOMO. Fear of missing out on trips, adventures, experiences, parties, everything. Committing is hard because what if a better invitation comes along? Choosing a significant other is hard because what if someone you could be even more compatible with comes along? It’s a real struggle.
I am not an enneagram 7, I am an enneagram 4. But I DO suffer from FOMO… when I have the radio on.
What if there’s a better song being played on a different station? I like this song, but what if the next station is playing a song I LOVE? When I drive my mom’s car she has Sirius radio. I jump between 60s – 70s – 80s stations. Or in my car, when I have the radio on (which is SUPER rare), I jump between 2-3 country stations.
The worst is when you switch stations and your favorite song is on but it’s the end. Or you go searching for something better and all the other stations are playing songs you hate, but you have missed out on a good song because you didn’t stay put.
It’s a silly thing to worry about. Especially with services like Spotify where you can have anything you like on a playlist. I guess how I battle this is the Shazam app. I check a song and add it to my Shazam playlist and then later anything memorable gets added to Spotify.
What FOMO do you battle?
