I have had a list of favorite names for as long as I can remember. The top name, number one in my heart, mind and soul, is Steve. (Not Stephen. Steve.)
When I teach I like to star the names that stick out to me that I might want to add to my list.
Here are some of my favorite ones from this year…
- Marlee (This is cute, but does make me think of the dog movie.)
- Abigail (Classic)
- Clara (Very feminine, and I had a great aunt named Clara)
- Elliot (Pete’s Dragon, excellent name)
- Silas (Biblical, nice…)
- Arwen (LOTR, always a fan)
- Rupert (This was a last name, but I like it)
- Thatcher (Very cool, unique)
- Zinnia (I love this. Flower names. I also like the name Crocus for something…. or someone….)
- Elmer (Classic, my Grandpa’s name.)
Names I’ve never heard before…
- Jenasyn (Jenna-sin)
- Shylah (Shy-luh)
- Eldon (Like Elton, but d)
- Phyla (Sounds very scientific… maybe I’m thinking phylum)
Names that stuck out…
- Rue (Hunger games, but I can dig it.)
- Ozzy (Like Osborne? Potentially very cute.)
