Well… tonight I fell for a classic blunder. Someone who I rarely communicate with reached out, “Wanting to say ‘hi’.”

In the past this has meant I need a favor or will you join my pyramid scheme. Tonight it meant, “Now that I have your attention I want to make sure you’re not stealing from me.”

I had an oral agreement with a friend about bartering. I sold them 26 items and in return I would pick up my item once a week until we were even. It would end up being 26 of my item in exchange for 24 of theirs.

This friend must have forgotten bc they essentially put me in my place. It isn’t the first time dealing with this person where Ive felt like I was being chastised unfairly. I try to remember that they’re busy and trying to run a business. But Dadgum.

Not only did it seem like conversations with me are unimportant bc they forgot what we discussed multiple times. It felt like I was being accused of being dishonest. I may be a lot of things but I’m not a liar, swindler or cheater.

They are paying me the remaining sum tomorrow and honestly I’m considering taking my business elsewhere. I don’t want to burn bridges but I want to maintain a little dignity.
