Therapy Continued (part 2)

My older brother has a college degree in history, but he is a self taught graphic designer who has worked for ESPN and started his own business. He teachers at a local university and is also getting his masters. He is brilliant. Always has been. He’s the kid who could pass a class without doing homework but would get 100% on the tests. He’s also funny and well liked everywhere he goes.

My next brother graduated with a psyche undergrad degree despite being diagnosed with ADD in his 20s and not having proper help at school until he was almost a senior. He started his own podcast company and successfully runs an ebay store and is getting into auctions/estate sale liquidations.

In both cases they get an idea and they do the thing. Success oozes from their pores. It’s wild (and wonderful!)

My middle sister is a nurse. She’s always been smart. She’s always said she wanted to work in the medical field. So she did it. She wanted it and she made it happen. It was hard and arduous and she succeeded. She’s always succeeded at things. She’s naturally bright and she likes people. She will always be welcome wherever she goes because she has this ability to actually like other humans. I don’t know how she does it, but she enjoys social interactions. She is my antithesis. It’s like if we combined and split evenly we’d be two normal people. But what we ended up with is me, 100% an introvert and my sister, 100% people-y.

My next brother just passed his Journeyman’s test on the FIRST TRY! (This is a huge accomplishment.) He is so creative and brilliant. He’s an artist, though he never trained to be one. He’s a writer and has started a novel. In high school he did half his day at the high school and half his day at a trade school where he learned HVAC and now works with my Dad. He has ADD and struggles a lot to focus but has found his success without even taking medication to help him. He’s a wonder.

All my brothers are handy and can do the basics of home maintenance and repair.

My youngest brother has autism and prefers the quiet indoor life, but he has still helped my dad build a fence and a chicken coop for me! He can tell you the name of any actor in any movie and knows all the things related to Disney Channel shows.

My baby sister has FAS and ADHD, but despite her struggles she’s an animal whisperer. Animals and babies love her. She works hard and is so strong. She’s 90 pounds of grit and good intentions. She has maintained a job working with animals since graduating and attends a local community college sped program where she takes college classes about animals and roller coasters and disney movies. (It’s a really cool program.)
