Redheaded Jill

There are a handful of the Studio Ghibli movies that I either couldn’t finish or won’t watch. I was hoping to do a whole series of reviews about these movies but I’m throwing in the towel. Sorry… but not really. *Potential spoilers ahead.*

Porco Rosso: I’m sorry, I don’t want to watch anything about a flying pig, no matter how heroic he is.

Grave of the Fireflies: Based on a true story, most depressing tale of all time. Lots of death. Like… 100% death.

Pom Poko: I started it… and I love Jonathan Taylor Thomas… but holy cow it made no sense. Talking raccoons… That can morph into people… It had an animal farm vibe (which I hate) and a Bambi vibe… which I also hate.

My Neighbors the Yamadas: I don’t even know what this is about, but it doesn’t look like a movie I want to watch.

There are a few more I probably won’t make it through… I wanted to be cool and get it all done, but I am not… appreciative enough of the art form I guess.
