For Christmas gifts this year I gave seeds that I have been saving. I save all the seeds from my farmers market bouquets and dry/store them until the following spring. This year I had a ton saved.
I but them into baby food jars, labeled them with my new (old) label maker and tied it with a ribbon. They turned out super cute if I do say so myself.
It’s an easy gift, it’s reusing and recycling items that would otherwise go in the trash, and it is supporting local businesses (because the seeds are from my friend’s flowers.)
I like to plant the seeds around my chicken run. The roots grow into the ground adding a layer of protection from predators burrowing under the fence, it is beautiful, and they attract bugs that my chickens can snack on. It’s a win win win win win.
