I went to buy an axe tonight. Thinking it would be a simple matter. Guess what. It was not.

I got a cheap one bc it’s my first axe. 2.5 lbs, wooden handle. But they had 10+ lbs, metal handles, different shapes, big, small…

So here’s what I’ve learned!

I got a hewing axe. Good for splitting wood logs, going with the grain. Most efficient with soft woods. Exactly what I needed.

There are also: felling axes (cutting down trees), hatchets (camping and carving), tomahawk (combat and sports), maul axe (splitting wood), and more…

So here’s hoping for zero injuries!
