Do you ever find yourself watching movies that you liked as a kid and thinking, “Wow… I don’t remember ____ being so… handsome.” And it gives you a new perspective for the storyline and a new appreciation for the side character?
I do this regularly. Most recently with Pete’s Dragon. I always knew that Helen Reddy’s character was beautiful. But holy cow, did I even take Paul for granted! He’s the face I picture when I listen to the song “Brandy” about the girl who is in love with a sailor.
This one is making the rounds lately, but I think we can all appreciate Charlie from Twilight. And it safe to say Bella’s mom was a dope. Charlie was the best and extremely unappreciated.
And sticking with the mustache theme, Boromir from LOTR. I re-watched this recently and finally appreciated Boromir with all of his flaws and good intentions.
Who are your unsung movie heroes? I might do a cartoon version next… I can think of several characters that I took for granted as a kid.
