The Happiest Occasion

A little over three years ago some really amazing things happened. (No, I’m not talking about rona.) 1. My second nephew was born and 2. My older brother and my sister in law and my two nephews moved to Kansas.

I used to want to be anywhere but here. I wanted to live in Texas. I wanted to live in Korea. I wanted to live in Montana. (Sometimes I still do…) BUT I love Kansas. I’m a Kansas girl at heart. There are sunflowers in my soul and wheat fields in my heart. Kansas is my home.

Once I realized that I wished that my siblings would all return home. I would be in total bliss if all the land surrounding my parents home was owned by me and my siblings. Just little homesteads all up and down the gravel road. Well, I have one brother who has devoted himself to Texas, and it looks like my sister is about to do the same. BUT, that still leaves five of us in Kansas and that’s better than 0!

My older brother is the coolest of all older brothers. My sister in law might as well be my blood sister she fits into our family so well. My nephews are the ones I love most in the world. When they told me they were moving home I cried.

My second nephew was only a couple months old when they moved. I was unemployed at the time so I could devote hours and hours to baby cuddles and lullabies. Now my nephews are 6, 3 and they have a baby sister due any day. (She’ll be here by the time this post is published.) I get to watch them three days a week. They live across the road from me. I get to be there for diaper changes, bath time, birthdays, sporting events, growth spurts, life’s milestones…

True wealth is family.
