Inheritors: Netflix – A romance between a boy from the Korean elite and he daughter of his maid. Probably my favorite drama of all time. (Also starring Park Hyung Sik, Kim Woo Bin, Park Shin Hye)

The Good Doctor: dramacool or viki.com – The original show (made before the American version with Freddy Highmore(?)) A medical savant teaches compassion and empathy to a hospital of hard headed doctors.

Doctors: dramacool or viki.com – A young woman grows up to become a doctor in the hopes of getting justice for her grandmother who died in surgery. *Romance age gap: 10 ish years*

Doctor Stranger: dramacool or viki.com – Lee Jong Suk plays a doctor who escapes North Korea in search of his first love.

It’s Okay Not To Be Okay: Netflix – This drama is so heartwarming. A young man helps care for his older brother who is on the autism spectrum. He meets a young woman with issues of her own after being raised by an emotionally abusive mother.

Dr. Romantic: Disney+ – Doctors who care for their patients are pitted against doctors who are only interested in financial gain.

Goblin: dramacool or viki.com – A goblin, a grim reaper, and the goblin’s bride all cross paths and form an unlikely friendship. True love carries through from past lives and hearts are broken, mended and broken again.

Scarlett Heart Goryeo: dramacool or viki.com – a girl falls into a coma and wakes up in Goryeo (historical Korea). Navigating the palace politics and the love of the princes, this makeup artist turned court lady changes history.

Chinese Dramas:

Love Like the Galaxy: youtube – This drama follows a young girl who was abandoned by her family at birth to fight in a war. The family returns home to find an unruly daughter with no formal education. She catches the eye of a young general trying to uncover the mystery of his family’s murder.

Hidden Love: Netflix – A young woman falls in love with her older brother’s best friend. She falls first, he falls harder.

The King’s Woman: youtube – The king of a warring nation is reunited with his first love only to find out she now considers him an enemy. He coerces her into marriage and the two gradually fall in love.

The Romance of Tiger and Rose: youtube – A writer wakes up to find herself living in her story. While she tries to keep the story on it’s course she finds herself falling in love with the leading man (who is intended for her sister…)

Thai Lakorns: *trigger warnings*

Kleun Cheewit: After an attempted abduction an actress who has been drugged flees the scene and accidentally hits and kills a young woman. Her lawyer boyfriend is bent on revenge until he comes to find the truth behind his fiancees untimely death.

Neung Nai Suang: viki.com – A young woman raised by her aunt and uncle harbors a childhood grudge against a family friend. Considered chubby as a child she grows up into a beautiful woman catching his eye. When she spurns him at a local dance he takes offense and discovers her identity. The two bicker until they land themselves in hot water and a potentially arranged marriage.

Dung Duang Hareutai: Three nations try to form alliances through marriage. A marriage alliance is thwarted when a princess flees. The king instead of being angry takes the opportunity to invite (abduct) the princess of the neighboring kingdom whom he truly loves to visit his nation. Three nations. Three marriages. Two love stories.

Turkish Bolum:

Gulperi: youtube – A beautiful widow lives with her in-laws and her three children. One night her brother in law accosts her and in self defense she injures him, winding up in prison. With the grandparents poisoning the children’s minds against her, the woman fights for justice and the return of her children to her care.

Black and White Love: A mafia love story. In place of her sick friend a kind doctor makes a house call. After she witnesses a gruesome murder she is captured and ordered to either 1: accept her death or 2: marry her captor.

Kan Cicekleri: two feuding families are on the brink of all out war and bloodshed. The leader of the wronged family says that they will have a marriage instead of bloodshed and marries the oldest daughter of his enemy. Through her goodness she softens his heart and as the two start to fall in love they face down the bitter hatred of each other’s family.
