My hair is the type of hair that doesn’t curl. Curling irons = fail. Foam curlers = fail. Sleep in braids = frizz. Sometimes and I mean SOMEtimes a ceramic curling wand will work, if it’s super hot, which is bad for the hair. I have tried that headband thing that you sleep in but it also doesn’t work great for my hair. THEN I found these…
When my hair was 95% dry I applied Blue Sea Kale Mousse (gifted from a friend, I couldn’t find it on amazon…)
Then I used three of these curlers. I did the top half of my hair (from the top of my ears to my crown) and rolled it with my hair rolling over instead of under if that makes sense… Then I did two curlers on either side, rolling down. After slipping these little curl caps on I also put on a satin sleep turban, which I’ve been using because it’s supposed to be super good for your hair. (And yes, they’re historically used by women of all races, ethnicities and hair types.)
After sleeping and doing my morning chores I removed the curlers and applied some L’ANZA Healing Mousse (another gift from another friend).

Overall I’m content. I’m going to keep trying, maybe a tighter curl or different product will help the curls hold. But considering it’s August in Kansas I’m pretty happy with how things turned out. If nothing else I maintained decent volume today. And sleeping in a satin night cap keeps my hair feeling super smooth.
