Diets and fads and misinformation… Oh my!

I am Redheaded Jill… and I am a serial dieter. Can anyone else relate? I’ve tried Keto, I’ve tried slim4life, I’ve tried cutting out fats, cutting out sugar, only eating eggs, only eating meat, I have tried pills and powders and shakes. I. Have. Tried. And I have failed.

One thing that I have learned about these fad diets is they are one size fits all. Sure, Keto is great for dropping weight fast… but the minute you eat a carb again BOOM. You gain back the weight. AND in the meantime your adrenals are shot. Adrenal fatigue is a monster. I have tried programs where you eat very specific things and take pills all day long. It too works great for dropping weight fast. But the second you stop forking over the money for the supplements BOOM. You gain the weight back.

On my personal health journey I have come to learn that we’ve been lied to. As a child of the 90s/early 2000s I remember the food pyramid. I also remember hearing “SALT IS BAD” and “BUTTER IS BAD”. Guess what… most Americans are deficient in iodine! And fake butter is more plastic than food! We have demonized the most natural things in our environment and replaced them with cancerous chemicals. Why oh why do we do this to ourselves?

Did you know that most doctors take less than 1 complete class on nutrition during their education? Did you know that dieting too hard and doing too much cardio can actually cause you to store fat? Did you know that intermittent fasting studies are mostly performed on men, and women are often harmed by this practice?

Millions of Americans are struggling when it comes to diet/weight/health.

  • Stubborn belly fat will not go away no matter what you do
  • Aching joints
  • Digestive issues
  • Skin issues
  • Low energy
  • Mood swings
  • Cravings
  • Poor quality sleep

Our livers are overloaded trying to help us detox from our poor diet. Genetically modified crops and harsh chemicals sprayed on crops make us sick and alter the amount of actual nutrition coming from said crops. Seed oils are in EVERYthing. And we’re not even going to touch on hormones.

What can we do about it? Well, one thing is we can read this book. The Fat-Burning Kitchen. Read to find out why cholesterol isn’t the bad guy. Truths about whole foods and animal products like milk, butter and eggs. When it’s safe to go non-organic in the produce section and more.
